What are licensing rates for each strain?
FLAVOR SERIES
- Galactic: $3/BBL
- Summerstone: $5/BBL
- Superbloom: $3/BBL
- Tropics: $3/BBL
TAMED STRAINS
- Tamed Saison: $2/BBL
FRESH STRAINS (BY ANNUAL VOLUME)
- 5,000-39,999 BBL: $0.75/BBL
- 40,000+ BBL: $0.50/BBL
How does invoicing work?
Small Batches and Large Pitchables customers are invoiced on the day the yeast ships.
Pay As You Go and Prepay and Save customers are invoiced quarterly based on actual or forecasted volume, respectively. Berkeley Yeast will send a form for reporting actual volume produced at the end of each quarter.
How is the credit calculated when prepaying?
Your licensing prepayment is converted into a credit (up to $2,500 per quarter). This credit can be used to buy pitchable quantities of liquid yeasts. Credits expire after one year if unused.
What happens if the volume I produce doesn't match what I prepaid for?
For Prepay and Save customers only: At the end of each quarter, the difference between estimated production volume and the actual production volume is reconciled on the next quarter’s invoice. Overestimated volume is rolled over to cover a portion of the next quarter’s volume. Underestimated volume will be reflected on the next quarter’s invoice.
What are the volume limits for the Large Pitchables plan?
Volume produced is limited to 5 times the intended pitchable volume. For example, a 100 BBL pitchable allows for the production of up to 500 BBL of beer. The total volume includes repitching and step-ups. After surpassing 5 times the intended pitchable volume, licensing rates apply. See licensing rates for more details.
NA Series Strains are limited to the intended pitchable volume due to food safety considerations.
